Due to the controversial nation's Grand Cannal Project, water waste, water treatment business will bloom next few years.
I think we have to take a look at this further and deeper. I know there are few
companies already working with us on this business.

| 두산중공업(사장 박지원)이 미국 최대 수처리 엔지니어링 업체와 기술협약을 맺고 수처리 시장을 공략한다. 두산중공업은 4일 미국 샌프란시스코의 수처리 엔지니어링 회사인 카롤로(Carollo)사와 수처리 사업 기술협약을 맺고 프로젝트 수행시 사업 전반에서 협력할 예정이다. 향후 수처리 프로젝트에 공동으로 입찰하기로 했다고 밝혔다. 지난 93년 설립된 카롤로사는 세계 100대 엔지니어링 회사에 포함되며 미국 내 1만5000여개의 수처리사업 프로젝트를 수행했다. 두산중공업은 우선 내년 중국, 인도, 중동지역에서 카롤로사와 공동 입찰을 통해 수처리 프로젝트를 수주할 계획이다. 두산중공업은 수처리 사업이 전 세계적인 환경오염 및 물 부족현상을 해결할 수 있는 대안이 될 것으로 보고 미래 성장엔진으로 육성하고 있다. 실제 수처리 사업은 하수나 폐수를 산업 및 생활용수로 정화하는 것으로 시장규모가 매년 15% 이상 성장해 2015년께 시장규모가 100억 달러에 이를 전망이다. 박윤식 두산중공업 전무(담수BG장)는 “이번 협약으로 세계 1위 해수담수화 분야에 이어 수처리 사업에도 진출할 기반을 구축했다. 수처리 사업은 북미, 중남미, 동남아, 인도, 중국 등 시장다변화에도 기여할 것”이라고 말했다. 배일한기자 bailh@etnews.co.kr ================================================================================== Who's Carollo Engineering? Carollo Engineers’ data acquisition and control (DAC) systems store and manage data in a useful way to optimize pilot study data interpretation. Ease of pilot plant control and convenience of data storage and access are factors that determine the efficiency and usefulness of pilot studies. These DAC systems allow the maximum number of conditions to be tested within the time available for conducting the pilot study. The DAC may be integrated into an existing pilot to allow stand-alone operation of that particular skid. This approach minimizes the amount of space required for the pilot study, while providing a convenient and meaningful way to control the pilots and collect data. Alternatively, Carollo can provide the DAC system as a separate skid, which provides additional benefits. This skid offers a touch screen human-machine interface (HMI) to monitor and control pilot operations. It also offers additional connectivity, such as access to the World-Wide Web for data storage and download from any remote location. A phone line connection is also available for data transfer and pilot control. This skid also serves as the central power supply for other pilot skids. The other skids may be plugged into the DAC skid, therefore necessitating only a single source of power for the entire system. This power configuration simplifies pilot study mobilization and eliminates the need for installation of multiple electrical connections. Data that are typically acquired during a pilot study include water quality data (e.g., pH and temperature), flow rates, pressures, and alarms. Process control functions include chemical feed system regulation, flow rate modifications, and automated valve actuation sequences. Data Management Remote access capabilities allow the engineer in charge of the study to monitor performance daily and make real-time changes to testing conditions as necessary. Web-based access to data allows stakeholders such as equipment vendors to monitor the performance of their system. Data for individual systems may be password-protected to maintain the integrity of the study, while sharing the results. In a competitive situation, this approach provides a noncontroversial communication tool and gives equipment vendors the opportunity to quickly respond to challenges encountered during the study. The DAC skid is supported by a rugged polymer-coated, metal frame for protection during transport. Carollo has used these systems in Arizona, Florida, Idaho, Missouri, South Carolina, Washington, and Wisconsin. |
